Created Unto Good Works
We are created unto good works (Eph. 2:10).
How to do good works
- Be thoughtful (Titus 3:1, Titus 2:14)
- We must be willing (I John 3:17, I Tim. 6:18, Eph. 4:28)
- We must “complete the doing of it” (II Cor. 8:11, I John 3:18)
- In abundance (I Cor. 15:58, Acts 9:36, Col 1:10, John 5:8)
- Without quitting (Gal. 6:9, Titus 3:14, Titus 3:8)
- With God-provided resources (II Cor. 9:8).
To whom to do good works
- To all (Gal. 6:10, II Cor. 9:13)
- We must go beyond
- Returning evil for good (Psa. 38:20, Prov. 17:13)
- Returning evil for evil (Rom. 12:19, Rom. 12:17, I Thess. 5:15)
- Returning good for good (Luke 6:33)
- We must return good for evil (Luke 6:27-28, I Pet. 3:9)
The results of doing good works
- God is praised (Matt. 5:16, I Pet 2:12, Eph. 2:10, Titus 2:14, II Tim 3:17)
- Others are influenced for good
- Some are led to Christ (I Pet. 3:1)
- The opposition is silenced (I Pet. 2:15)
- We obtain good things for ourselves (Matt. 7:19, I Tim. 6:18-19)
It is a “faithful saying” that we must maintain good works” (Titus 3:8, James 1:27).
And, we should admonish others to “good works” (Heb. 10:24)
